Fishing Report

Ok we are a few weeks in from start of season and here is whats happening in the area. On Piprell they are doing well from shore and in the boats catching lots of pan fry splakes with an occassional 2-3 lb caught in the mix. On the bigger sizes 2 browns over 6 lbs have been caught and the rainbows are coming out of spawn now. For other lakes Diamond and Little Jade in the gem lakes have been doing well with a rainbow over 10 lbs being caught and released in Little Jade.Shannon Lake for browns and Stuart Lake for pike was good.A 12 lb 12 oz pike was brought in out of Heritage Lake and a 5 lb rainbow out of Singh Lake. Pinkney Lake was reported as no action there yet and no walleye reported being caught anywhere yet. here are a few pics of some of the fish caught to date so far.

  1. Piprell Lake has lots of small splake and tigers being caught from boats and off shore with 2-3 lb browns and rainbows in the mix a 6-7 lb rainbow caught from a belly boat. Singh lake is reported as slow but what is being caught is big a 9 lb rainbow was caught and a bigger 1 was lost heh.Shannon, Sealy, Kit and the Gem Lakes are reported as very good for trout.Limestone is good for walleye limits up to 4.5 lbs being caught and Stuart as good for pike. Lake trout were still up and being caught in East Trout lake.Couple of new pics posted with the rainbow from Singh.Future updates to follow.

  2. Well heres a report i do not like to post but has to be done and hopefully someone will reply with something good that i have not heard. Piprell Lake someone has thrown the switch and fishing has died right off with the exception of them still being caught on gang trolls and still fishing out of the boat.Kit,Sealey and Summit are also very slow the last few days. These are the only lakes i have heard about lately so i hope the rest are doing better as usually some lake in the area is on when the rest are off.One more pic was added of a 6 lb 5 oz rainbow caught on Piprell still fishing before everything else shut down.Stay tuned for future updates as i hear it i will keep you all informed.

  3. Well not much to update its been fairly quite. Piprell has been slow with best success using gang trolls and a couple of browns caught from shore in the 3-5 lb range late at night.Kit Lake is hit and miss for rainbows with people doing good 1 day then nothing the next.Walleye have been reported being caught on Pinkney and Ispuchaw and pike being caught everywhere that has them

  4. Ok Kit lake produced some nice rainbows over the weekend shore fishing with 1 over 5 lbs and Pinkney produced a 11 lb pike pic has been posted above. Piprell is still slow but seems to be improving with lots of surface action from the trout and better success still fishing from the boats lately.

  6. July 29 to Aug 1 at Piprell Lake was great. Great weather and scenery. I did not fish this trip, but when I was out on the lake at 5 am, I did see several nice sized trout jumping in the water for insects. They are there, you just might need a little luck catching them!

  7. Ok been a couple of weeks since my last report and not too much has changed.Still slow on Piprell with belly boaters doing the best catching a few decent browns in the 2-3 lb range and small rainbows and splake.Pinkney and Stuart are still producing lots of angling fun catching lots of pike with a 14 lb pike out of Stuart caught by yours truly sorry no pic camera was dead. Kit and the Gem lakes are still pruducing trout fairly consistently. Also heard of a 17 lb pike that possibly came out of Upper fishing or Ispuchaw was weighed in at Caribou Creek Lodge but they couldnt recall which lake it was caught at for sure.Mackie Lake was fun and beatiful scenery on the Esker trail with small rainbows hitting on every cast using corn and marshmallows.Thats all for now stay tuned as i hear you will hear it.

  8. Well been awhile since i posted anything but fishing was very slow. But since its cooled off and the the bugs have dwindled to next to none the fishing has been extremely active. We haven't had a lot of reports from other lakes but they should all be good now. Our lake has been producing tons of pan fry sized trout during the day slowing down in the evenings with some 2-4 lbers in the mix and a higher then usual amount of small tiger trout which will be awesome for future fishing.Kit Lake produced a 8 lb plus rainbow shore fishing and good success trolling with an average size of about 3 lbs being caught. We just got a skiff of snow last night but its melted and hope we don't see any more right away but its definitely fall now.Take care all and hopefully i'll have more to post and pics to go with it in the next few weeks.
